Just some more info. I don't know if this is the problem, but the source for the edit form
has the following action:

<form id="editform" name="editform" method="post" action="/index.php?title=Android_Logging_System&action=submit"

Note the '&' in the action URL. I think this should just be '&' in the URL.
Possibly, something is 'quoting' the ampersand for the url, improperly, and this is
resulting in the weird behaviour. This is just a hunch.

Did anything in the config change recently?

Still working on figuring this out. I've messaged the OSUOSL guys. Everything seems fine from a Mediawiki config point of view.

Mediawiki directory fun

Tim Bird <tim.bird@...>

Bill,

I was still seeing the error about creating a directory on the main page.
I went to upload an android icon file to the elinux wiki, and I got an error
back saying the upload directory did not exist.

I created the following directory:
/var/www/mediawiki-1.14.0/upload

and assigned it ownership 500.110.

At this point, I noticed the main page error was gone.

I tried to upload the file again, and got an error about directory permissions.
Noticing that /var/www/mediawiki-1.14.0/images was owned by www-data.www-data,
I changed the ownership of the upload directory to that. This allowed me to
upload the file. It went into upload/c/ce/Android.png.

However, the file could not be downloaded from http://elinux.org/upload/c/ce/Android.png
(The file image would not display on the wiki file description page.)

I manually moved the file from upload/c/ce/Android.png to images/c/ce/Android.png,
and now all is happy.

In the LocalSettings, the upload directory is specified as $IP/upload, and that's
where the file went when I uploaded it. However, it appears that files are expected
by Mediawiki to be in $IP/images. Maybe these should be linked?

Hopefully I've not screwed up the the directories or permissions too badly.
I didn't modify any php or settings files.

Please take a look at the upload situation and see if it's working properly.

Thanks,
-- Tim

New Mailing Lists

Bill Traynor

I've configured two mailing lists on elinux.org:

announce@...:
http://elinux.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/announce

wiki-dev:
http://elinux.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/wiki-dev

I've linked subscription forms from the wiki here:

http://elinux.org/ELinuxWiki:Mailing_List

Let me know if there are any issues with them, or if you have any requests
for new lists.

Cheers
Bill

Great. It looks good. It's also nice to have the old one to
look at for a bit to make sure everything is still operational,
and to pull recent changes from.
2. Tim R. configured mail on the new host and I turned on Mediawiki's
mail support. So if a User has added an email address to their
preferences, they can now receive emailed password reminders,
watchlist notices (not sure if this works though), and do user to user
mails.
Tim B., I'll investigate whether watchlists can incorporate reg
expressions, a la moinmoin and let you know.
3. Mailman is installed but not configured yet. As soon as this is
complete, this list can be deprecated.
Sounds great! Thanks for getting this done!

I have two requests pending to Movial right now. One for
(once again) ssh access to the box, and mediawiki sysop access,
and the other for setup of the e-mail list. This is kind
of my "last straw" test. If they take longer than a week
to respond, or if either of the requests is negative, then
I think we should move it. I cut them some slack in August,
because I know most of Europe goes on vacation in August. But I'm
getting real tired of the run-around.

Note sure we need yet another list, but whatever.

Creation of elinux-wiki mailing list

Tim Bird <tim.bird@...>

Hi all,

I consider you to be one of the key people involved with
the creation and management of the elinux wiki. I have created
a mailing list for the wiki, with a subscription page at:
http://tree.celinuxforum.org/mailman/listinfo/elinux-wiki

Please subscribe to this list as soon as possible. Note
that I'm copying the list on this message. The list is
referenced at:
http://elinux.org/ELinuxWiki:Mailing_List
which is linked to right from the front page of the wiki.

It would be better, IMHO, to move this list to the elinux.org
domain. But I don't have administrator privileges on that
box. I'll make a request to Movial to create such a list,
but in the meantime, this list should work OK.

I'll send out a separate message to others who have expressed
interest (and to celinux-dev), shortly.

Thanks,
-- Tim
