In the session by Mr. Kosaki, we would like to have a discussion
opportunity about CGroup and the tracing issue.

1. CGroup:
----------
The core developer eager to listen to the demand of those functions
from embedded system view point.

2. Tracing:

Currently the merger of perf_counter and ftrace is under going
aiming at easier measurement of function duration and richer
measurement results to be obtained.

However, because of less persons who can talk about the use case
of those tracing mechanism in LKML, many of community people are
anxious for them to become "features which no one uses". This
issue will be talked in the Kernel Summit of this year.

In the arena of embedded systems, there must be existing much
experiences latent. Thus community is looking forward embedded
system people to join the discussions within LKML and talk about
the requirements for tracers.

It *is* important not to be reverted those features.

Despite of Japan Jamboree, I wish you to provide of your
comment as to above.

At the same time, I will be able to summarize the interesting
sessions which are accepted for Japan Linux Symposium from
embedded system view point.

One thing more... We are still soliciting for the session

テクニカルジャンボリーを開催します。場所は中野サンプラザです。

午後２時からのセッションで、前回大阪ジャンボリーでの小崎さんの
プレゼンテーションの模様を上映します。小崎さんはその中で、
下記に関する組込み分野からの意見を求められました。ビデオ上映の
後に電話で会場と小崎さんを繋ぎ、ディスカッションをしたく思います。

1. CGroup:

コア開発者が、この機能に関して組込み系からのコメントを求めて
います。CGroupでカバーされている事は組込み分野でも重要な
事項が多く含まれているかと思います。是非活発にコメントを
していただくようお願いします。

2. Tracing:
-----------
(以下、小崎さんからのメッセージを転載します)

現在、コミュニティの動向としては、この function durationを
もっと簡単に測定できるように、また、function durationとtracepoint()を
組み合わせてリッチな測定結果が簡単に得られるように、
perf_counter と ftraceの融合が進んでいます。

しかし、課題もあり、トレースのuse case について議論が出来る技術者が
LKMLに少ないため、誰も使わない機能になるのではないのかと危惧が
何人かから表明されており、また、kernel summitの議題候補にもなっています。

Linux界隈ではMontavistaがLTTを採用していたこともあり、
組込み屋さんがトレーサーに関してはもっとも多くのexperienceを
持っている状況。

なので、彼らが、トレーサーに対する要望へのディスカッションに参加してくれる
ことを希望しています。
これは機能がrevert されないために、非常に重要

また、引き続き、セッション提案をお待ちしています。

来週の金曜日（17日）、第29回Japan Technical Jamboreeを
中野サンプラザで開催します。既に、Tim Birdさんがモントリ
オールからSkypeを通じて参加し、Kernel 2.6.31マージウインドウ
のトピックスとモントリオールリナックスシンポジウムの様子を
カバー、また波平さんがFlash File Systemの評価報告をして
いただける事になっています。

更に、セッションの募集を続けています。是非奮ってお寄せ
ください。

ところで、前回大阪ジャンボリーでは会場とSkypeで遠隔地を
接続してのセッションを試みています。もし、中野サンプラザに
いらっしゃる事が出来ない方でもプレゼンテーションをしていただく
事が出来る筈です。まだ、試行段階ですが、もし希望が有りましたら
お問い合わせください。なお、ジャンボリーの様子をインターネット
でライブで公開する事はまだ実現しておりません。

また、前々回からセッションの様子はビデオに撮影し、CELFの
ホームページで公開しています。
