I guess Kernel-driven overlay application (it's been called "quirks"
elsewhere) would fall under this? It's rather scary, and would need
fairly strict rules to be feasible and remain maintainable, which is
going to limit where it can be used.

I think the core guys for that are on the list already?

- Standardizing Android dtb handling. Appended DTB for arm64? Not
liked by upstream, but already in use.

If people are going to package a kernel and DTB together, it would be
nice if they could at least be easily decomposed (using something like
FIT).

So +1 for that discussion.

2) Emails or other messages expressing an interest in attending the
device tree track.

3) Commitments to attend the device tree track (the conference committee
is looking at attendee interest and commitments as part of the process
of accepting the device tree track).

(eg a kernel configured to include the proper drivers and subsystems)
- create drivers that properly work for a device tree binding definition
- create drivers that support detecting errors in the related node(s) in

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone had a great holiday and wish all
a Happy New Year. This is just a quick reminder that the
deadline for submitting a proposal for a session
at Embedded Linux Conference is fast approaching.

I'm very excited about some new areas of focus for this event,
including IOT, drones and automotive. This will be in addition
to our strong set of sessions on "regular" embedded Linux
and Android (at ABS).

The deadline for proposals is January 9th, which is this Friday. The
event itself is March 23-25 in San Jose, California.

to make a presentation at our upcoming Embedded Linux Conference.
The conference will be held March 23 - 25 in San Jose, California.
The theme for this year is "Drones, Things and Automobiles", and
we're excited to discuss some new areas where embedded Linux is
really taking off! (pun intended :-)

Presentations should be of a technical nature, covering topics
related to use of Linux in embedded systems. Topics related to
consumer electronics are particularly encouraged, but any
proposals about Linux that are of general relevance to most
embedded developers are welcome.

Presentations that are commercial advertisements or sales
pitches are not appropriate for this conference.

Especially encouraged this year are talks in the following
